Good Morning everybody! I hope you are all ok today?
Tomorrow whilst in school I am going to endeavor to call as many of your parents and guardians as possible for a quick chat as to how you are all getting on. In the meantime (feel free to give feedback on the blog or tomorrow when I call) could you have a think as to how your home learning is going? Particularly I am interested to know how you are accessing the activities, would you rather receive:
- Daily tasks such as; 1 English, 1 maths and then a theme/foundation subject activity or,
- A weekly learning grid that you can pick and choose from?
Feedback
I would personally find it easier to have a daily challenge so we know the level and amount we’re achieving is about right for what is expected. As home educators we have to work with our personal strengths and some subjects we can fly with others need a bit more hand holding. I know it’s each home educator for themselves and there is no pressure to achieve everything and anything but it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. Everyone is doing a grand job on both sides in this unprecedented period of insanity! Thank you.
Thanks for your feedback Mrs Carey! I’ll see what I can do to facilitate a daily challenge.
Hi, I feel a series of tasks to complete over a period of time is better as it allows a degree of flexibility on choosing an attention grabbing Start point.
The current maths tasks are good as a tutorial for us less able guardians is crucial to avoid incorrect teaching.
Practical tasks help to break up periods of seated learning.
Hope all is well with Team Brandesburton and a big thank you for all your help.
Good to hear that the grid is proving to be useful, a website that is very helpful in relation to maths guidance is: https://www.mathsisfun.com/
