Activities 14.5.20 – New Format

Good Morning Class 4, following additional feedback from parents, I have decided to refresh the daily activities. From today I will post daily challenges for you to complete in addition to a slimmed down version of the learning grid. There will be ongoing tasks such as the Maths and English book, plus an extended write which will entail a lesson per day. In addition to the daily English tasks I will also be posting daily maths challenges from NRICH. Finally, I will also post daily theme activities.

Please remember that I do not expect you to complete every single task, the new version, just allows a little more challenge for those children who are wanting to complete more activities.

Charlie sent me this amazing drawing, his ability to show perspective is fantastic. Following the train tracks to the background, really creates the impression of distance. I can just image a train appearing in the distance and gradually getting bigger as it approaches us.

Chloe has been working really hard with her work on area, exploring missing measurements.

Daisy has sent in some photos of her VE Day celebrations, how yummy do those buns look? I also really like the Lego mini-figure colouring, looking at the old-man feels like I am looking at a future version of me!

Some very creative bunting sent in from Alasdair! He also sent me a video of a parachute experiment that he had conducted, but unfortunately the blog won’t let me post it :-(.
VE day activities from Chloe, how tasty does all of that baking look?
More excellent work being completed by Emily. Fingers crossed that the plants and vegetables will grow and we will see more of them in the coming days and weeks.
Gethin continues to be very busy with his work, he’s even found the time to build a replica of the Tower of London! Very impressed indeed.
Lily has been very busy baking for her VE Day celebrations, how tasty do those buns look! Wish we were all in school so that we could sample them!

Lucas sent over images of his bunting and VE Day work, unfortunately there is a problem with the blog which is preventing me from sharing them.

Lucy sent in some examples of the English and Maths work she has been completing as well as VE Day bunting. Really impressed with her use of similes and description.
Oliver has been incredibly busy over the past few days! Look at all of the fun activities he has been upto!
Ted has been busy baking buns for his VE Day celebrations and was visited by a tank!

Please see suggested activities for English and Maths for this week. Remember you do not have to complete every single activity, pick and choose what interests you and what you are able to complete at home.

I’ve also been asked many times if it’s OK to use x booklet or Y website instead of an activity that I have posted? This is perfectly fine. There are many websites and resources out there which will support home learning.

Rufus has worked tremendously over the past few days on a range of different activities, here are some examples of the work he has done, keep it up!
Ted has completed some excellent research on Keith Harris, label organs and even managed to find time for a bike ride! Excellent work Ted!
